The three-year-old Manaal is less exposed than most of these and has to be respected but Sir Michael Stoute's colt has disappointed in his last two starts and may have to settle for a minor role here with preference for Scarlet Flyer, who gets the vote over Takitwo. The last mentioned was slightly disappointing last time at Lingfield but that was over a mile and he has to be respected on the evidence of earlier form over today's trip of seven furlongs. Desert Dreamer is capable but has given little sign of encouragement of late, while Sun Catcher could probably do with some help from the handicapper. Russian Symphony ran better at Folkestone last time and has claims on that evidence although more solid claims are held by the consistent and seemingly well treated Scarlet Flyer, who gets the vote.
