While the well bred Alsahil put in a promising debut CARBON HOOFPRINT has looked like an improver in two starts and should progress again on turf debut while Our Day Will Come has had plenty of chance to get off the mark. The pick only found a hotpot from John Gosden's yard too good last time and may well have pressed the winner further had he not got trapped on the rail when the race got serious. Both career starts have been on the polytrack showing promise and he should be just as effective switching to turf. Alsahil is related to Group 2 winners Makderah and Oriental Fashion and seemed to have inherited some of that talent in his solid debut in a warm maiden November. The step up to the mile trip should be of benefit, eventually he'll need further, and with the normal expected progression it will be disappointing if this colt doesn't go close. Our Day Will Come is still a maiden after nine starts and has had easier opportunities than this to score. That said he goes well on this ground but the extra furlong will have to bring out a marked improvement to beat the two we've mentioned with Carbon Hoofprint providing best here.
