This is a fairly weak race and Bar Of Silver, the clear pick on official ratings, is just given the vote ahead of Leonor De Soto, Tirailleur and Mabel Riley. Jamie Osborne's colt was second in a selling handicap at Folkestone in April, and was off the track for a while before finishing down the field at Wolverhampton last time. He should strip fitter for that, and the drop down in grade should be just enough to see him get his head in front. Leonor De Soto won a seller at Wolverhampton last time and has only raced twice on turf since then. Not disgraced at Nottingham last time, he must be given a chance. The same remark applies to Tirailleur, who was coming back from six weeks off when fifth in a Leicester claimer last time and must have an easier task here. Mabel Riley led for a long way at Bath last time and will be better suited by this slightly shorter trip. She has only four pounds to find with Bar Of Silver on official ratings and cannot be totally ruled out, but in a race where nothing stands out strongly on form, Bar Of Silver looks the safest option.
