With John Quinn's stable returning to form, AHMEDY has to be respected in this contest having been placed twice off this mark in the last couple of weeks. Astronomical ran a rare stinker in an amateur riders race but prior to that he had exhibited plenty of consistency in races at Leicester and Doncaster. George Adamson has been a credit to connections this term and is sure to give another good account of himself. David Lanigan's raids on the Northern prizes have been pretty prolific over the last year and his previous course-and-distance winner, Leader Of The Land, is worthy of inclusion on any shortlist. Old Hundred is tried in headgear for the first time though the trainer's recent form is enough to give us some reservations.
