      Verdict

      TAX FREE isn't the force of old but he's still capable of winning a race of this nature judging by his run behind Masama at York a week ago which was his first run in a handicap since 2006. Dandy Nicholls' veteran ran a fine race here in September behind Tangerine Trees and Captain Dunne and Paul Hanagan takes over from Adrian Nicholls, who has ridden him in 41 of his 44 starts. All of Love Delta's five victories have been on the all-weather, four of them on Fibresand, but he's no slouch on turf and made a highly promising comeback when just touched off by Crown Choice at Goodwood. Singeur had dropped to a fair mark when landing a Thirsk handicap a fortnight ago and may not be as effective in this company while Fitz Flyer has been out of form so far this season. Liberty Lady is progressing nicely but this is much tougher than the handicaps she won at Folkestone and Lingfield and Sandown Listed winner Burning Thread has finished last in both subsequent starts.
