Verdict

Colloquial is only 1lb higher than when winning at Ascot last July and has the benefit of a recent run under his belt. Henry Candy's veteran looks to have every chance but preference is for the four-year-old ZUIDER ZEE. He won three times over shorter trips last year and has plenty of scope for improvement over longer distances this season. Herostatus is 8lb higher than when scoring over today's trip at Dundalk and was tailed off on his reappearance, while La Estrella has been unbeatable in lesser company on the Fibresand this year but is facing a much tougher task here. Winning hurdler Ocean Transit has claims back on the level, while Battleoftrafalgar and Ashbtrittle are others to consider.
