Axis Shield, Blue Maeve and Flying Tackle form the shortlist in a competitive finale and the vote is given to Flying Tackle. The selection is a course and distance winner and although he finished seventh here last time, he was not beaten all that far and from a good draw here he looks to hold every chance. Axis Shield also has a good draw and she finished a fair fourth behind Money Mate at Redcar last time. She has been running consistently well of late and with ground conditions to suit she will not be far away at the finish. Blue Maeve was a fair second behind Boanerges at Hamilton last time but he does not have a great draw and he has not won for nearly two years. Hamaasy is running well but he will also find life tough from a low draw and for the winner we are happy to return to Flying Tackle.
