The most competitive race of the day here and a few in with chances including Woodcote, Golden Dixie, Funfair Wane and Bo McGinty and we take Funfair Wane to score. Althougha light of former years when a winner over c&d off 105, Funfair Wane undoubtedly still possesses the ability to win a race of this nature. Proven over the track and still competitive over the trip, he is drawn high here and can take advantage. Woodcote has only once won over the minimum trip, on debut two seasons ago, but went well behind Firenze at Goodwood over 6f last time. He is not without a chance, although his stands side drawn looks the biggest problem. Golden Dixie will be very popular after his 5f win at York last time and he comes here trying to defy a 5lb rise. He loves this ground, is drawn well and in trying to produce a career best effort to win this, he should go very close. Of the others, Bo McGinty came back to form last time after a drop in the handicap and can be thereabouts, but Funfair Wane still looks up to this class and can score.
