From a short list containing Dame Hester, Crosby Vision and Sir Gerard, we will side with Dame Hester. This is an interesting race. Dame Hester was ahead of Collateral Damage when fourth in a competitive Newmarket handicap last time and, even though we feel that the latter, who has grown into a lovely horse, will win races this year, the selection can confirm the form today. Another horse of potential interest is Crosby Vision, who was two short heads in front of Collateral Damage at level weights when winning a Redcar maiden last September. Sir Gerard is also interesting based on his tidy Lingfield all-weather win, which backed up his Newmarket promise the time before, but Call My Number, who is a course and distance winner, has been beaten in two handicaps since that victory. Memphis Man put in a fair run at Kempton last time but he has been raised three pounds for his first try at seven furlongs on Turf and, finally, Rebellion, who is a dual all-weather winner from a high of 79 ( he races off 75 today), is held - but not by much - by Collateral Damage on soft-ground juvenile maiden form but is closely-weighted with Memphis Man based on their Kempton meeting over seven furlongs on April 1st. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Dame Hester.
