Verdict

Northern Lyte has a good record around here but was engaged in the 5.15 at Hamilton yesterday. Baashiq has a 5lb penalty for last week's victory at Brighton which may prove too much in the prevailing conditions while Cuttin' Edge found a similar penalty to much to handle at Bath after a easy victory at Salisbury. Dual two-year-old winner HACKLE SETTER hasn't recaptured his form but has now dropped 10lb since the season began and showed signs of a revival at Epsom. He won't mind the conditions and gets a tentative vote in a tight handicap. Kilbaha Lady is only a pound higher than when scoring over slightly further here in May while Ventura Royal didn't get the run of the race at Ayr last week after scoring at Musselburgh.
