Verdict
The bottom weight Red Fama can land this tight little contest where a case can be made for all of the participants. Neville Bycroft's lightly raced sort landed a gamble for connections when scoring over course and distance last time and a 3lb higher mark may not be enough to prevent Red Fame from achieving course win number two. Channel Crossing returned from a long break at the start of May and his recent form has been taken to a new level. Formerly a banded class performer, Channel Crossing benefited from a good front running ride from Joe Fanning to win over course and distance on his penultimate start before similar tactics saw him find one too good last time. Up 1lb for the second, he should still be competitive if attaining a soft lead. Mister Fizzbomb is not guaranteed to be suited by this surface as all of his best from is on a lively surface while a step up in trip failed to get Hepburn Bull into the mix last weekend. Master Nimbus went too fast for his own good last time and will probably be seen in a better light if his rider opts to track the likely pace setter Channel Crossing here. Red Fama is the selection to land it.
