Lady Valentino, Prelude and Rowan River are the trio that catch the eye here, with Lady Valentino taken to make a winning seasonal re-appearance. Prelude also re-appeared in this race last season, and shaped well, finishing a close sixth, crying out for a longer trip, which she duly got, and scored at Chester in August. The trip is too short for her, she is seven pounds higher, and she may need the run. Rowan River has one win to her credit, at Newmarket last year, and though she can come on for her re-appearance run, she will need to as that was a lack lustre effort. Lady Valentino will be dismissed by many as she is six pounds out of the handicap. However, she finished off last season with two good runs, one of them here, and with her stable in good form, Lady Valentino can spring a surprise.
