In depth

Verdict

BOMB PROOF has switched yards and has been gelded since making a winning debut at York over a year ago. It’s tempting to take him on under a penalty but he beat four subsequent winners on that occasion including Redcar’s Two-Year-Old Trophy winner Summer Sands and James Fanshawe’s new charge gets the vote on the strength of that form. Silver Sniper and Dandy Story were both placed in separate races here recently though neither threatened the winner and Araifjan looks a bigger danger back at this level having recovered from a bad stumble to finish third in a handicap at Newcastle.
