Verdict

Jackday, Astrodome and Sonny Sam make most appeal here and the vote is given to Sonny Sam. The selection is lightly-raced and he was a little unlucky last time at Yarmouth when he was checked for room, and in the end he wasn't beaten far. He could be worth another chance and he is put forward as the value pick. Jackday showed improved form last time at Catterick and he shaped that day as though this step-up in trip would play to his strengths, so he is certainly one to bear in mind. Astrodome is another who will be suited by this step-up in trip and the yard are in flying form at present. Tim Vaughan's stable are also in good form and although his runner Banquet might find this trip a little too far, his trainer does think he's decent so he could have place prospects. This is a competitive race and the vote is given to Sonny Sam.
