Cap St Jean ran better than expected at Musselburgh last time and, given his pedigree, should not be inconvenienced by the cut in the ground today so gets the vote to go one better here ahead of Storm Path and Smugglers Bay. The last mentioned might not have stayed 1m4f at York last month and has run better back over a mile here last time so has to be respected over the same course and distance. Mix N Match has to be of interest for trainer Willie Haggas but does not look particularly well treated for his debut in this grade. Mandalay Prince gave little sign of encouragement on his handicap debut on Lingfield's Polytrack last time but may be suited by the return to turf. Mr Chocolate Drop is something of an unknown quantity on turf but is hard to back with confidence on recent form on the all-weather. Eve Johnson Houghton's lightly raced Storm Path has to be considered but Cap St Jean has solid claims on the form of his recent run at Musselburgh and is preferred.
