Comic Strip has leading claims and is selected to fend off the challenges of fellow southern raiders Dry Ice, Where With All and Blue Prince. This is not a bad little contest on paper but Sir Mark Prescott's charge may improve enough to add to his debut success at Southwell last week. That might have only been a run-of-the-mill fibresand affair but the son of Marju picked up impressively when asked and should find more over this longer journey. He holds an entry in the Betfair Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar this autumn so is no back-number and can overcome his low draw. Sir Mark Prescott has sent out many precocious juveniles to prevail at Beverley in the past and this fellow could be the type to run up a sequence. Dry Ice continues his education after scoring at Warwick on his second start and he too can only improve. From stall six he should make his presence felt, while Where With All will find this easier than in the Chesham at Royal Ascot but carries most weight. Blue Prince, an attractive American-bred, makes his racecourse bow here rather than at Sandown on Wednesday and should be noted in the market, but we feel that Comic Strip has more to offer and take him to follow up.
