Hills of Gold is the final selection at Beverley, with Jacaranda, Internationalguest and Prairie Wolf seen as the main dangers. Hills of Gold has overcome past breathing problems to start paying his way, and was successful at Ripon in April, when given a positive ride by Kevin Darley. The soft ground did not prove a hindrance that day and he has since run well in a decent handicap at Newcastle. He was never going to get past Parnassian at Doncaster on his latest outing but plugged on gamely and will have no problems with the longer trip this evening under Paul Mulrennan who has partnered Mick Easterby's charge on plenty of occasions. Jacaranda put up his best effort of the season when second at Epsom and should go well, while Internationalguest was taken off his feet at Windsor and may fare better if this turns into a tactical battle. Prairie Wolf has not won since landing a decent handicap at Goodwood two years ago but ran well at York last October and should not be ruled out in this company. The three-year-old Messe de Minuit has a tough task but is at least open to more improvement than his older rivals, but Hills of Gold has the best form overall and should prove hard to beat.
