    Verdict

Not a lot of experience to go on here, but Sir Michael Stoute's Shell Garland showed enough promise on her Newmarket debut to be able to take a race of this sort. By Sadler's Wells, she was always going to come on for her first run and can go well here. One stable in red hot form lately is that of Amanda Perrett and on that basis alone her filly Tuneful must enter calculations here. A very good effort to finish third of a big field at Salisbury on her recent debut, she can be confidently expected to improve for that over today's longer trip and will be thereabouts. The market should be a guide to the chances of debutante Night Mist, from the Mark Johnston yard. Anything she does this year should be a bonus for one expected to improve at three. Of the others, Tim Easterby's Princess Erica didn't get the best of starts on her debut. If she can learn from that, then she'll be much closer here.
