In depth

Verdict

GRACEFUL THUNDER won on her debut at Sandown with a little give underfoot and having appeared in the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot, George Boughey’s filly sets the standard in our curtain raiser. Lady Nunthorpe didn’t get a clear run on her latest visit to Beverley and will need to win from the widest slot of all. Inns Of York was well behind in that race and was far from cheap at the sales. Craig Lidster has attained a decent strike rate with his runners on the Westwood this season so Blufferonthebus cannot be ruled out. Connections have been patient with Boardroom and the January foal makes a belated debut.
