      Verdict

      PEPYS has put in two good runs, notably when just beaten last time, since being upped 7lb for a narrow Redcar win, which appeared harsh at the time. He runs off a unchanged mark, looks an improved performer this term, faces ideal conditions and is preferred to recent Thirsk scorer, Hitman. The latter is going along nicely in the current campaign but is likely to find life harder off his new mark. Mywayistheonlyway ran a cracker last time behind Jacob Black and a repeat performance off a 2lb higher mark will see him a leading player. Jacbequick and Equiano Springs have ability but have yet to come to the boil this season.
