Space Shuttle is the pick over Melalchrist and Dorn Dancer, while the market may prove a guide to the merits of newcomer Imperial Sound. The latter holds entries in a host of expensive juvenile contests this summer and autumn and the son of Efisio is sure to know his job well. It would be no surprise if he were to go in at the first time of asking, but we instead lean towards the more experienced Space Shuttle. Tim Easterby's colt, a half-brother to Polar Haze, was galvanised by first-time blinkers when making all at Doncaster 12 days ago on his third racecourse start, and although dropped back in trip again here, is expected to make them all go from stall four. The ground was heavy when Melalchrist made a winning debut here in May and although only narrowly beaten on faster going at Redcar next time, he may still be taken off his feet by the selection. Dorn Dancer is the other winner in the line-up but she has more on her plate than when scoring at Chester, and it will take a good one to stop Space Shuttle taking off and making all.
