Sir Michael Stoute won this last year and can repeat the feat courtesy of Karliyna, with Cheerleader, Naivety and Longing For Cindy her main rivals. The Stoute yard seldom wastes its trips to Beverley and it looks as though a suitable opportunity for Karliyna has been found. The daughter of Rainbow Quest still holds entries in the Oaks and Ribblesdale Stakes, and although she might not quite prove up to that level, she will certainly find things easier here than when seventh to Eswarah on her debut at Newbury a month ago. She did not exactly catch the eye, but is sure to come on a bundle, and can advertise the form even more, as Eswarah has since followed up to leap to the head of the Oaks betting. The latter's stablemate Cheerleader is a well-related daughter of Singspiel who has the same entries as the selection, and is sure to have been taught her job well, while Naivety has some experience of this track, having finished behind Verbier last September. Longing For Cindy will improve for the step up in trip, and can prove best of the rest, but Karliyna sets the standard and is the pick.
