The hat-trick seeking Leonor de Soto is difficult to oppose in his current form and is preferred to another last time out winner Commitment Lecture and Mellino. The selection has come from off the pace to win races at Brighton and Warwick on his last two starts and may still be ahead of the handicapper. The slightly longer trip and stiffer track should not be a problem judged by the filly's breeding and she looks worth following to win again. Tim Easterby's Mellino found just Flowerdrum too good for her at Pontefract last time and is entitled to be thereabouts again although a bigger danger to the selection may be Commitment Lecture, who is only 4lbs higher than when winning at Newcastle last time. Alex Stewart's lightly raced Salinor and Shamwari Fire, for who the promising Luke Fletcher has been booked, are others worthy of a mention but it will take a good one to beat Leonor De Soto.
