The 10-year-old Jamaican Flight won on his first visit to Catterick earlier this month but, having scored as a juvenile at Beverley, Sue Lamyman's horse has failed in all nine subsequent visits to the venue and, under a 6lb penalty, is passed over in favour of Rahwaan, who gets the vote over Clarinch Claymore. The selection was formerly with John Dunlop but has shown a similar level of form since joining present connections finishing fourth in the Chester Cup and fifth in the Northumberland Plate this term. This represents a drop in class for Chris Fairhurst's four-year-old and he is taken to take advantage of it. Clarinch Claymore has been given a chance by the handicapper but his recent form is a worry and, while Timing is capable, Tim Easterby's filly is difficult to catch right. Domenico has shown little sign of encouragement of late, while Dubai Dreams is a far from certain stayer so Rahwaan looks a safer proposition.
