Paul Hanagan was on board when Convention ran in a Hamilton maiden last month and takes the ride again as Ed Dunlop's filly makes her handicap debut. She can do better while another Newmarket raider, Bouggatti, returns to the scene of her maiden victory in April and has been racing over longer trips subsequently. Bright Applause didn't get the clearest of runs over a mile here last time and was staying on at the finish but Magic Millie was beaten in a seller last time. Pinotage would have a chance on his Redcar victory in June but didn't enjoy soft ground at Ripon last time and there's been plenty of rain around. CELTIC STEP returned to form in that Ripon contest finishing runner-up to Playful Girl. He last won off a mark of 58 on Polytrack and is well enough handicapped to be given the vote.
