In depth

Verdict

Mohawk Ridge has shown some solid form in his last two races without really having enough to pick up the win, whilst Highland Love is a previous course and distance winner and George Adamson comes here looking for the hat-trick, but our selection in this affair is SCEILIN. Our preference is for the six-year-old John Mackie mare who admittedly has not performed fantastically this year including a poor effort at this course in April, but had decent wins last year including off a much higher mark. It took her a couple of runs to get going last year and now with some experience under her this term feel there could be some value in backing her today. Mohawk Ridge offers a real alternative posting a particularly respectable effort at Newcastle two races ago. Highland Love has won here before but that was two years ago and has shown very little since. George Adamson could be a danger and stands possibilities of landing a hat-trick. However the penalty for those wins is severe and may struggle to find the magic performance again here. Our preference is for Sceilin to come good again and rediscover her best form to score.
