The Grey Berry, Smugglers Bay and Jewelled Dagger form the short list here, with the selection being The Grey Berry. Tim Easterby has won four of the last seven runnings of this race and his recent course and distance winner, Smugglers Bay, who raced in first-time blinkers there, represents him today and his win marked him down as an improver and he can go well today. Jewelled Dagger's recent good form has taken him to a career high but, although he is unproven on soft going, he could yet find some improvement on it. The Grey Berry is another progressive performer, having won his last two races, Although he is now rated five pounds above his Newmarket win last time, today's type of track could well suit and he can go well. Laish Ya Hajar showed improvement to finish second to a well-handicapped rival last time and he can go well too, while, finally, Lemon Silk's best juvenile run came on soft and it would be no surprise to see him improve on his tame efforts so far this season. These are our thoughts, then, with the selection being The Grey Berry.
