Mick Channon's Texas Queen has been running well on the Polytrack at Wolverhampton and Kempton of late with wins at both surfaces and has to be respected on her return to turf off what seems a fair mark but she may be better on the artificial surfaces and a better bet looks to be BESTY, who gets the verdict over Kakapuka. Anabel King's colt was good value for his reappearance success at Bath last month when scoring narrowly in a six furlong event but a 6lb penalty for that win may prevent him from following up. At the bottom of the weights, Richard Guest's Clear Ice, comes into this having run well when chasing home Ingleby Arch in a Southwell claimer and he has been given a chance by the handicapper. James Given's Tartufo Dolce is relatively lightly raced and has to be considered on her reappearance but more solid claims are held by the selection, Besty. Bryan Smart's colt lacks a run this term but the yard have their runners in good order and he has solid claims off just a 5lb higher mark than when winning well at Musselburgh when last seen in October.
