La Mere Germaine made a winning start to her career at Listowel in September and though not seen since November she obviously goes well fresh. After scoring comfortably at Listowel, Sixteen Forty Two was hit with a 9lbs rise and failed to cope on his subsequent start at Naas. He's on the same mark here and may be in the grip of the handicapper. Izagonawin has some decent form on soft ground and would be a threat if the rains arrive while the prolific Zhukov has never won at tonight's trip. PECULIAR PRINCE is the only C&D winner in the field having easily landed a handicap last August. That was on heavy ground but he handles faster going and is only 1lb higher this time.
