Verdict

RED CARDINAL was a long odds-on chance when beaten at Wolverhampton in October but hasn't been kept in training for nothing and may have enough to hold off the three-year-olds and open his account. Mazaz may be the pick of the younger generation as he'll have learnt plenty from his third at Beverley and Mawaany was beaten eight lengths when second at Wolverhampton. De Aguilar has already had five starts and is proving hard to predict but the filly Summer Collection may be improving though, like Emperor Napoleon, will be qualified for handicaps after this. Ma Peek is entered in the Derby but may need the experience today.
