Ember Days is set to go up 2lbs in future handicaps following her good second at Newmarket last week and is taken to make the most of her favourable mark, with Jessinca and Donastrela rated the main dangers. The selection ran up to her best when chasing home Jacky Kiely at headquarters and off the same mark is taken to go one better today. Jessinca has a nice lightweight but is none too consistent so a bigger threat may come from Donastrela. Andrew Balding's filly sprung a surprise when winning over course and distance last month and although beaten on a return visit her subsequently remains less exposed than some of her rivals. Brian Smart's Bond May Day has been given a chance by the handicapper but could do with being dropped another couple of pounds and of more interest may be Sylvester Kirk's Kalimenta, who makes her debut in a handicap today. The John Manners-trained Lyrical Girl was good enough to land a claimer at Lingfield on her return but has not been seen since January and may need the outing so the vote goes to Ember Days, who has plenty in her favour.
