Rae Guest's Maluti looks to hold solid claims in this sprint handicap and is preferred to Melody King and Peruvian Style. The selection won in tidy fashion at Brighton last month and was far from disgraced off his new mark at Redcar subsequently on a softer surface when two-lengths fourth of 15 behind Nanna. A reproduction of that form may suffice in a race that might not take much winning. Top weight Peruvian Style and Ian Wood's Catch The Wind are both due to go down 3lbs in future handicaps and look opposable off their current marks so a bigger threat may come from Melody King. The David Evans-trained gelding has run some decent races in defeat of late and is entitled to be thereabouts again but may once more have to settle for a minor role. Dean Ivory's Mirasol Princess has shown signs of a return to form of late and is another to consider, along with the John Hills-trained Rehia who comes from a stable back among the winners recently. However, Maluti has an obvious chance and gets the vote.
