In depth

Verdict

Ajig went close at Brighton last month and soft ground looked a legitimate excuse for a poor effort at Nottingham a fortnight ago. Jersey Brown is only 2lb higher than when scoring at Ayr in October while Boogangoo went close here in the same month, though is 7lb higher today. By contrast, CORNISH PATH was runner-up over course and distance off a higher mark in September and, with a pipe-opener at Doncaster under her belt and an apprentice taking 5lb off her back, Henry Candy's filly gets the nod.
