Cressex Katie is fancied to land a quick hat trick in this sprint, with Bonny Ruan expected to get closer to her, and Barrantes and Blackheath also in the shake up. Following an easy win at Brighton, the four-year-old filly justified favouritism and defied a penalty to win over course and distance a fortnight ago, travelling well throughout and just pushed out to win by a length and a half. She is seven pounds higher in the weights today, but should not be opposed while in this mood. Bonny Ruan finished fifth behind the selection, staying on well from the rear and is now significantly better off at the weights. She is on a fair mark now and with Kieren Fallon booked she should give Cressex Katie a bit more to think about. Barrantes led for a long way over seven furlongs at Lingfield on her reappearance, eventually finishing second in that Ladies Handicap and is on a winning mark so should also play a leading role, along with Blackheath. The latter recorded a fast time when beating Byo last month at Folkestone and can be forgiven his latest lapse as he still had the blindfold on when the stalls opened, and as such was far from disgraced in finishing sixth at Thirsk.
