Verdict

A competitive contest gets proceedings under way and the market may prove the best guide as to what is expected of the newcomers, but they will have to be above average to beat Ever Cheerful. The colt from the Bill Turner yard has been in fair form on turf of late on and ran well from a poor draw at Chester last time. If he acts on this surface he will be hard to beat. Brooklands Time was a good second over course and distance last time out behind Silent Revenge and a reproduction of that effort would see him go close. Good Vibrations is a well bred sort from a top yard and he is worth a cautionary look in the market. Muy Bien is another worthy of consideration after his good second behind Cotosol at Southwell but this is a different surface and it is impossible to say how he will act on it. Of the remainder Close Fisted is from a yard that does well with its two year olds and is sure to improve.
