In depth

Verdict

Indian Edge, Bee Stinger, Lord Of Dreams and Merrymadcap form the short list in an open event and we take Bee Stinger to score. The step up to a mile proved to be spot on for Ian Wood's gelding at Lingfield last time, where the four-year-old won by a very comfortable five lengths. He handles fast ground well and looks capable of following up with plenty of doubts about his opponents. Indian Edge is also proven over the trip and comes here on a hat-trick. However, he is not at his most effective on this ground and so is opposed. Lord Of Dreams won two off the reel at Wolverhampton, but was found out after a 6lb hike here last time and will probably have to wait for other days, while Merrymadcap likes it here and on the ground but probaly has a bit too much weight at present and we prefer Bee Stinger to go in.
