Pic Up Sticks may be up to defying a penalty at the expense of Cuppacocoa, Desperate Dan and Dematraf. This appears to be a wide-open sprint handicap, and one in which Pic Up Sticks makes a quick reappearance after his back-to-form win at Salisbury four days ago. Brendan Powell's eight-year-old benefited from a strong ride by Ryan Moore that day, and as long as the ground remains on the fast side he should make a bold bid to defy a 6lb penalty. Cuppacocoa has gained all of his three career wins here at Bath and showed signs of a return to form when second at Sandown last time. He goes on the short-list along with Desperate Dan who was snapped up by Andy Haynes after readily landing a Wolverhampton seller for Jamie Osborne 11-days ago. Dematraf carries a 6lb penalty for her recent narrow success at Chepstow where Digital was in arrears. She should hold Mick Channon's old-stager on that form at least, but is not as well fancied as Pic Up Sticks who gets the vote to defy topweight.
