Palm Court may be good enough to defy topweight, with Kristal Glory, Hyper Viper and Kyrie Eleison others for the short-list. Palm Court has risen to the top of the handicap on the strength of some decent efforts so far, including when coming out on top narrowly on his nursery bow at Wolverhampton in July. Slightly unlucky-in-running at Newmarket next time, he was all at sea on soft ground on a return visit to headquarters 16-days ago, and has conditions much more to his liking today. Kristal Glory is going the right way, and will definitely be suited by the step up to a mile. Well enough weighted it would seem, he can give the selection most to do. Hyper Viper was well held by Palm Court when the pair met at Wolverhampton, but the extra distance may see him get a bit closer. Mick Channon saddles a trio of runners here, and the market will probably be the best guide to their respective chances, but for the winner we return to Palm Court, who sported first-time blinkers when beaten last time, but lines up without the aids today.
