Deeper In Debt can defy an unfavourable draw to see off Night Storm, Hidden Star and Stevedore. John Akehurst's charge should love the prevailing fast ground at Bath as he appears best when able to hear his hooves rattle off the turf. He was far from disgraced when third to stable companion, Glencalvie, at Windsor on good ground. The recently returned Robert Miles retains the ride. Night Storm has to be respected as a winner over course and distance. He also has a favourable draw. The question is now as to whether the handicapper has got it right with a 9lb rise since that win. Hidden Star is on a recovery mission having been unsuccessfully punted at Pontefract on his last start. Stevedore was an impressive winner at Musselburgh but has a very poor draw. Lizarazu holds claims from a lower draw if truly staying this eight furlongs. Juste Pour L'Amour continues to drop down the handicap without too much in the way of success. Deeper In Debt looks the percentage call.
