Caustic Wit is selected here ahead of Summer Recluse and Dematraf. Summer Recluse likes it here and, even though he is probably better at six furlongs, a repeat of his narrow course and distance second to Harrison's Flyer last September would give him a very good chance, although a wide draw is a concern. Caustic Wit also likes it here and holds very good claims based on last summer's form and he comes here on the back of a very good all-weather second to the in-form Mambazo. Dematraf comes here in very good heart and could still conceivably be well-handicapped even under her penalised Warwick win. King Egbert is another that could go well if running to his best, while Seven No Trumps is invariably competitive at this level, although Trinculo holds him on recent claiming form, while stable companion Peruvian Style shaped pretty well on his seasonal return at Brighton last time and improvement from that is not ruled out. Jucebabe is another with some hope and, finally, Hello Roberto has dropped to a very good mark if managing to get back to her best form. Once again, though, the selection is Caustic Wit.
