Pippbrook Gold was a real eye-catcher last time at Windsor, meeting trouble in running more than once inside the final two furlongs and just failing to overhaul the eventual winner. With more forcing tactics applied today Pippabrook Gold can break his maiden tag here. Although the form of that Windsor maiden has received a knock or two since, there is no getting away from Pippabrook Gold after his troubled passage. Caro George is the obvious danger to the selection. She showed he had benefited from a seasonal debut at Lingfield when just finding the odds on favourite Yahwudhee too strong in the closing stages, the front two drawing a fair way clear. On a line through the Luca Cumani trained Acrostic there should not be much to choose between the main two protagonists, admittedly though, that form-line involved Caro George's debut from which he has evidently improved. Sunny Peace has a lot of ground to make up on Pippbrook Gold on their Windsor clash but Brendan Powell's filly put in a much improved effort at Goodwood. A word of caution is issued with regard to the worth of that Goodwood maiden form as they not much ground covered the first six home. It is hard to give any of the remaining runners much chance and Pippbrook Gold gets the nod.
