Pugilist can account for Sir Edward Elgar and Rainbow Sky in the three-year-old maiden. Brian Meehan's stoutly bred son of Fraam went into the notebook when finishing second to Dahman at Windsor last month. A number of horses that he had beat had shown decent form in quality maidens in the past and any reproduction of that effort should suffice here. Sir Edward Elgar showed a modicum of ability at Chepstow on a debut start. The Gosden team are doing well with the maidens although the time figure posted by this one was not great. Rainbow Sky is rated 75. She has been tried over a variety of trips without cutting too much ice. Her performance will set the benchmark. Ladood is a rare Hamdan Al Maktoum runner for Willie Haggas. Her dam finished second in the Sun Chariot Stakes in 2000 and if she has transferred any ability to her daughter, she is a very real danger to our selection. Interim Payment ran very green on a first two-year-old start. It will be interesting to see what a winter on her back has done to her. A fair maiden on paper and one that can go to Pugilist.
