      Verdict

Newt was expected to take the huge step-up in trip in her stride when well supported on her reappearance at Wetherby but fluffed her lines and finished a long way last. It's difficult to enthuse about her chances after that performance and Kiruna Peak finished a long way in front of her. Mick Channon's filly at least showed she stays this trip when beaten just over three lengths and can go well with her young rider's claim a bonus. PLATO'S KODE had never raced beyond a mile before his run over 1m4f at Chepstow where he was outpaced turning into the straight before staying on. This trip looks his optimum and he can take this under Dane O'Neill. None of the remainder have shown much though any one of them could improve for the step-up in trip.
