Verdict

Muftarres didn't beat much last time but the handicapper may have underestimated him with a mark of 72 and he gets the vote ahead of Pennyspider. The classiest in the line-up, Sir Michael Stoute's Green Desert Colt can continue his good form. After a fair debut at Doncaster, he won well at Redcar and with this quick ground in his favour; he can make mincemeat of this motley crew. The Game has a tough task under top-weight despite his ready win last time over six, whilst Barraland is consistent but unlikely to trouble the judge for the winner. Pennyspider won here two starts back but is high enough in the weights, as is Apple Pie Order on what he has done so far. Another Socket is tumbling down the weights and was decent as a juvenile so must be respected; however it is Muftarres who can take this drop in trip in his stride.
