Another wide open affair here with many of the runners closely matched on their best form but the main protagonists look to be Sir Cumference, Lost In Normandy and Celioso and we will take a chance on the last named. The gelding from the Sue Smith yard won well last time out when defeating Three Eagles with more in hand than the winning margin suggests and although he has risen in the weights he will be hard to beat with conditions again in his favour. Sir Cumference rates the main danger. He showed improved form throughout last season culminating in a win over Pettree. He is sure to have improved through the summer and with conditions in his favour he is a danger to all. Lost In Normandy looks another improver in the field he has one his last two races in good style and he is a course and distance winner he is another for the short list in a wide open affair. Vague Idea was very disappointing over hurdles last time out but the switch back to fences should help. Of the remainder Strongtrooper looks to have plenty on under top weight while Basil may need the run after an 223 day absence so we are happy to side with the fit and in form Celioso.
