Verdict

Not a big field but competitive with New Bird, Billie John and Day Du Roy being the main contenders and with the vote going to the last named. The Jonjo O¿Neill charge won back to back races in the spring. The handicapper took note but a good second at Stratford last time out proved this horse is capable off his latest mark and is set to return to the winners enclosure again today. Billie John came good last time out at Uttoxeter putting a heavy fall the time before behind him. With confidence restored he ca be a threat to the selection. As can New Bird who came good this time last year and could very well do the same this year. But for the winner we return to Day Du Roy.
