In depth

Verdict

Our Mick looks a progressive type, finishing second at Sandown after breaking his duck in a maiden hurdle at Hereford last month. He is easily the pick of Donald McCain's pair but he may struggle to beat BEAR'S AFFAIR here off level weights. Nicky Henderson's gelding won a bumper at Uttoxeter in October before making a winning start to his hurdles career at Southwell. The second that day, Basford Bob, has turned out to be a decent novice and the five-year-old can extend his unbeaten record in this. The others are probably playing for places.
