In depth

Verdict

Majorca King won by 12 lengths on his chasing bow at Towcester but is giving weight here to one or two potentially useful novices. Mulligan's Man unseated Jason Maguire when favourite at Kempton last week but obviously suffered no ill-effects. He shouldn't be written off just yet while Detour Ahead has proved consistent over hurdles. MONTE CAVALLO boasted decent form over the smaller obstacles over the winter, despite being highly tried at times. He'll have been well schooled over fences and can make a winning start to his new career.
