Quite a competitive novice hurdle that could go the way of Garde Champetre, with Mister Mustard and Guarded Secret put forward as the main dangers. The selection is held in very high regard by his connections and was well supported when making his debut behind easy winner big Moment. The conditions were atrocious on that occasion and we should see an improved performance this afternoon. Guarded Secret got off the mark at the first time of asking when easily accounting for some moderate animals at Uttoxeter, his jumping was a bit sketchy in that event but he is another who will come on for the experience. Mister Mustard is quite well exposed and has shown enough ability in bumpers and hurdles to be a major threat. Of the newcomers Grande Jete is trained by the in form Nicky Henderson and is worth a look in the market, however Garde Champetre has a big reputation and can repay his followers.
