In depth

Verdict

A competitive contest in which Nativetrial can outstay a whole host of possibles including Bear On Board, Jolly Giant and Harlov to name but three. Nativetrial made a pleasing comeback at Newton Abbot last month when making Master Of Illusion pull out all the stops and should come on for the run. He was the only one to finish when landing the Lincolnshire National at Market Rasen on Boxing Day and will lack for nothing in stamina. Charlie Mann's charge is selected over Bear On Board who got back to winning ways at Haydock recently. This Irish point winner has been brought along patiently by Alan King and has a few more miles on the clock. Jolly Giant was fancied on his return at Perth but struggled on his first run since March. Sure to strip fitter, he can be in the shake-up along with Miners Dance who is in a bit of form, and Harlov who reappears with the assistance of Tony McCoy. This looks to be a good race in which Nativetrial is selected.
